This symbolic scene is the parallel link to the "Pale Horse" of the 4th sealed scroll. A full description is given of this beast, or "Kingdom of Religion" in this thirteenth chapter of Revelation.
This "Religious Kingdom" was an earth-born religious system, meaning that it would also institute a man made heirarchy. Although this beast had a similar appearance "Like a lamb," it is written that he "Spake like the dragon." These symbols tell us that this religion was trying to give an appearance of the "Lamb" or of Christ. However, the "Speaking" was like the "Dragon." This means that this new system of relion still infiltrated with many unscriptural doctrines that came from the past traditions of Paganism and of the Apostate Roman Catholic Church.
The two horns symbolize the civil powers of Germany and England, which supported the 16th century Reformation. It is written, that "He maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth." This represents the original fire of the Holy spirit at the birth of this Reformation. However! It is also written, that this "Two horned beast" made an "Image" which brought deception to the earth. The "Forms, rituals and ceremonies" practiced by the Protestant sects are an "Image" of the Roman Catholic practices. These symbols are declaring the second stage of the Apostasy that came to pass through the great ecclesiastical system called Protestantism. These people stopped short of God's goal! God expects every true Christian to receive His truth from the Bible, not from the traditions of men! Amen? |

Rev.13:11-15
"And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And deceived them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast, saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed."
John, the Revelator is given another graphic vision describing the next "Religious Kindom" that would follow the first apostacy. We have previously identified the first "Religious Kingdom" as the Roman Catholic Church. | |
